Frack free West Sussex petition tops 3,000 to secure council debate

A petition calling for West Sussex to be declared a frack free zone has secured enough signatures to force a council debate.

The combination of electronic and paper petitions was signed by 3,450 people with a West Sussex postcode.

Under West Sussex County Council rules, petitions which collect 3,000 signatures will be debated by a full meeting of the council. Only signatures of people who live, study or work in the county are eligible.

WSCC is validating the signatures and will announce when the issue will be debated.
