Lancashire County Council’s development control committee has adjourned for lunch without taking a vote on Cuadrilla’s application to frack at Preston New Road.

The deputy chair of the committee, Kevin Ellard, has proposed a motion that the committee should refuse the application because it was against national and local planning policy and guidance. This goes against the advice of planning officers who had recommend the application should be approved.

The committee will meet again at 1.30pm to vote on the motion.
