Lancashire county councillors discussing Cuadrilla’s planning application to frack at Preston New Road in the Fylde returned from their lunch break and immediately adjourned the meeting.

Members of the development control committee are now discussing the wording of a motion to refuse the application to drill, frack and test up to four wells. The motion, to be voted on at about 2pm, goes against the advice of planning officers who had recommended approval.
