Anti-fracking campaigners have called for a delay to the decision on IGas’s plans for groundwater monitoring at a proposed shale gas exploration site in north Nottinghamshire.
Rathlin Energy has announced it is abandoning its exploratory well at Crawberry Hill in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Campaigners against Rathlin’s work say they will gather at the site near Beverley today in celebration.

As expected, Cuadrilla is to appeal against the refusal of its two applications to frack in the Fylde area of Lancashire. Campaigners said the appeals disregarded local democracy and would put further pressure on residents.

Opponents of fracking in North Yorkshire have criticised the report by the Shale Gas Task Force published this morning for not representing their views.
