UK onshore daily oil production in June 2025 was the lowest for eight months. The monthly oil volume dropped 7% compared with the month before. The fall was more than twice what would have been expected from the shorter month in June, compared with May 2025.
UK onshore gas production rose 6% in January 2024, with the second consecutive monthly increase at the leading field, Saltfleetby.
Just two onshore oil and gas wells were drilled in 2023 – and one of them has already been abandoned. This is despite government policy to “max out” domestic resources.
