Campaign groups opposed to Third Energy’s plans to frack at Kirby Misperton in North Yorkshire said this afternoon they weren’t surprised by reports that the company was seeking funds from rival operators.
The government is planning to change some of the questions in its public opinion survey on why people support or oppose fracking.
The Government expects the UK to have 30-35 unconventional oil and gas sites by 2022 and 155 wells by 2025, according to an unpublished report.
A newspaper article in North Yorkshire led to speculation during the weekend that gas company, Third Energy, had already carried out test fracks at its Kirby Misperton well site.
The National Trust is continuing to refuse access for seismic surveying at historic Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire, despite threats of legal action.
