Lancashire campaigners against Cuadrilla’s plan to frack near Blackpool have lost their latest legal challenges against the Communities’ Secretary, Sajid Javid.
The shale gas company, Cuadrilla, said this morning it estimated fracking would begin between April and June this year.
Councillors in Ryedale, North Yorkshire, have rejected proposals to employ a specialist to represent them at a hearing that will decide the area’s fracking policy for the next 20 years.
