Drilling of the UK’s first horizontal shale gas well has been completed, Cuadrilla announced this morning.
The shale gas company, Cuadrilla, said this morning it estimated fracking would begin between April and June this year.
Aurora Energy Resources has told residents it is planning to drill and frack two wells near the west Lancashire village of Great Altcar, on the edge of Formby.
A year ago today, Cuadrilla began work at its Preston New Road site near Blackpool in Lancashire, the first site in the UK to host and frack horizontal shale gas wells.
