IGas has identified a new site in north Nottinghamshire where it wants to explore for shale gas. Opponents of fracking have organised a campaign event for the weekend to raise awareness about the plans.
The chief executive and co-founder of IGas, Andrew Austin, is stepping down from the board, the company announced this morning. It also gave details of cuts of more than 25% to its workforce and consultants.

INEOS is extending its interests in shale gas under an agreement announced this morning with IGas. INEOS said the deal would make it the third largest holder of onshore oil and gas licences, with access to almost ¼ m acres of potential shale gas reserves.
