Plans to drill for oil near Billingshurst in West Sussex needs a fresh planning application because the exploration target has changed, campaigners said this week.

Campaigners against oil drilling near two West Sussex villages announced today that Celtique Energie has agreed to pay their costs for a planning inquiry that never happened.
Celtique Energie has been ordered to pay thousands of pounds of costs to a campaign group and West Sussex County Council after withdrawing its appeal over plans for exploratory drilling.
An inquiry has been provisionally scheduled for August next year to hear Celtique Energie’s appeal against the refusal of planning permission for exploratory drilling in West Sussex.
