Our map shows that most of these groups are based where there are Petroleum Exploration and Development Licenses and where oil and gas drilling is proposed or underway.
Apart from the national groups (not shown), the largest numbers are in north west England, South Wales and Somerset, the Weald of Kent and Sussex, central Scotland, Northern Ireland, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and the East Midlands.
