Lancashire County Council’s planners have recommended rejection of Cuadrilla’s planning applications to drill, frack and test for gas at two sites in the Fylde.
In the past few minutes, the council has released a 684-page report which will be considered by councillors next week.
Cuadrilla has applied for permission to drill, frack and test up to four exploratory gas wells at both Preston New Road, Little Plumpton, and at Roseacre Wood near Elswick.
The report says permission at both sites should be refused. Two proposals for arrays of monitoring stations were recommended for approval.
Members of the county council’s planning committee will meet to discuss the Preston New Road application on Wednesday 28th. Consideration of the Roseacre Wood application will start on the afternoon of Thursday 29th January.
