INEOS Shale sent the National Trust a pre-action legal letter yesterday warning of court action over access to land in Nottinghamshire.
INEOS has confirmed it will begin seismic surveys for shale gas next month in parts of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough.
The National Trust is continuing to refuse access for seismic surveying at historic Clumber Park in Nottinghamshire, despite threats of legal action.
The shale gas company, INEOS, has been accused of bullying landowners to allow access for geological surveys.
