The number of onshore oil and gas wells drilled in the UK in 2017 was another 50-year low for the industry.
Surrey County Council is meeting the oil and gas company, Angus Energy, this week to discuss a side-track well at Brockham, amid allegations that it was drilled without planning permission.
The majority investor in the Horse Hill oil well near Gatwick is claiming record UK onshore flow rates. After completing initial flow tests, UK Oil & Gas described the results this morning as “outstanding” and equivalent to rates from the North Sea.
The short answer is not many companies sank wells anywhere onshore in 2015. The number of oil and gas wells drilled in the UK in 2015 was the lowest for almost 40 years.
