Third Energy has received a grant of £50,250 to assess the feasibility of using geothermal energy from its former gas wells to power heat networks in the Ryedale area of North Yorkshire.
Lancashire shale gas will take longer to exploit than expected but the potential value remains, Cuadrilla’s chief executive told an Australian business newspaper today.
The fracking company, Cuadrilla, helped the former shale gas commissioner, Natascha Engel, prepare for a radio interview, according to emails she deleted.
Cuadrilla has said it will make small goodwill payments to people living near its Lancashire shale gas site who said their homes were damaged by the UK’s largest fracking-induced tremor in August.
“I love it because it is not oil”, the head of Angus Energy said of his new gas asset in Lincolnshire.
The shale gas company, INEOS, warned anti-fracking campaigners that attempts to delay its operations would not work.
