Egdon Resources plc announced this morning it had begun its appeal against the refusal of planning consent for its Wressle oil site near Scunthorpe.
Opponents of plans for 15 years of oil production near Scunthorpe had tears in their eyes when councillors refused planning permission this afternoon.

Egdon Resources has been moving equipment off its oil exploration site at Laughton in Lincolnshire after deciding to abandon the well.
