Sussex police says it hopes an external review of the policing operation at last year’s Balcombe anti-fracking protests will be completed in “the next few weeks”.
The review into Operation Mansell is currently being carried out by Hertfordshire Constabulary. The Sussex Chief Constable Martin Richards told the Mid Sussex Times last week: “We’ve had the Balcombe strategy reviewed and I am confident we followed the right sort of lines”.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said “We are awaiting that report.” When asked whether the report would be made public, the spokesperson said: “We are unaware at this time of what is planned next.”
