A group of Balcombe residents has won the right to challenge in court the decision by West Sussex County Council to grant planning permission to Cuadrilla to flow test and flare in the village.
A judicial review will now be heard by a judge in the High Court. Two days have been set aside for the hearing.
Sue Taylor, of the Frack Free Balcombe Residents Association, described the decision as “marvellous news”.
The council’s planning committee voted by 12 to 1 in favour of granting planning permission at its meeting in April.
