IGas announced today its interim non-executive chairman, Cuth McDowell, is retiring after 10 years on the board.
He will be replaced later this year by Chris Hopkinson, currently non-executive chairman of the oil and gas company, Enwell Energy.
Mr Hopkinson has worked for Shell International, Yukos, Lukoil Overseas and Imperial Energy Group. He later held executive posts with TNK-BP, BG Group, International Petroleum Limited and KazMunayGas in Kazakhstan.
In a statement today, Mr Hopkinson said:
“I am excited to be joining IGas and helping to support the team in driving the business forward to create future shareholder value through its existing cash-generative assets and through its bold energy transition strategy.”
DRILL OR DROP? 
Hopkinson – Looking forward to working with you all to create a bit more cash for as long as we can. If there is any collateral advantage to the planet which we can greenwash, that’ll be good…..and marketable. Is that a fair summary of Hopkinson’s statement?
Nope.
You could have added, “to provide a never ending source of plastic keyboards for a few to join in without bothering to do the hard graft of research.”
Because, as “we” all know, the excuse is that, in the absence of an acceptable alternative, that is required. Wonder who posted that?
So, Mr. Hopkinson, looks as if you are going to be providing the world with a resource that some admit they have to use, even when they do not.

Your first para is incomprehensible.Your second paragraph suggests that Hopkinson is providing me with plastic – a material which I admit I have to use, “even when I do not.” What on earth does that mean?
Do try and write in English, Martin, otherwise you are posting apparently with nothing to say. Not that unusual, perhaps.
