About 80 opponents of fracking from across Europe joined a protest today outside Cuadrilla’s shale gas site at Preston New Road, near Blackpool, where drilling is expected to start imminently.

Thousands call for fracking ban in Scotland as consultation closes
Campaigners said more than 40,000 people have called for a ban on fracking in response to the Scottish Government’s consultation which closes just before midnight tonight.

Angry residents call for immediate halt to UKOG oil drilling plans at Broadford Bridge
Opponents of oil exploration at a site in West Sussex have called for an immediate stop to work after the drill rig was installed yesterday.
First arrest at Broadford Bridge oil site as protests oppose rig installation
Sussex Police said this evening a 61-year-old man from Lindfield had been arrested outside the oil exploration site at Broadford Bridge near Billingshurst. A spokesperson said he was suspected of obstructing the highway.
