21st August 2014 Frack Free Balcombe Residents Association heard this afternoon it had a court date for its legal challenge to the decision to grant planning permission to Cuadrilla to flow test an oil well in the village.

Government survey shows public support for fracking falls below 25%

12th August 2014 The latest government survey of public attitudes to fracking has shown a fall in support. The Public Attitudes Tracker, commissioned by Department of Energy and Climate Change and published today, reveals under a quarter of respondents supported shale gas extraction.

New opinion survey claims 57% support for fracking

11th August 2014 An opinion survey for the UK Onshore Operators’ Group out today found 57% of respondents thought fracking for shale gas should go ahead, while only 16% were opposed. 27% said ‘Don’t know’.
