Friends of the Earth says 7,000 people have supported its ongoing action against funding by Barclays Bank for a company that wants to frack in North Yorkshire.
Cuadrilla Resources has confirmed it has reported a fracking leaflet produced by Friends of the Earth to the Advertising Standards Authority, saying it was misleading and scaremongering. The company says it has also reported FoE to the Charity Commission.

Fracking Week in Westminster returns after the summer recess with questions and debates on fracking and onshore oil and gas
Opponents of fracking in North Yorkshire have criticised the report by the Shale Gas Task Force published this morning for not representing their views. A statement from Frack Free Ryedale said aspects of the report read like “an industry shopping list” with very little input from local communities.
A small but influential group of people have changed public perception against shale gas, Cuadrilla’s commercial director told a committee of MPs this afternoon. Tony Carruthers blamed anti-fracking campaigners for what he called “ridiculous scaremongering” and said their propaganda had been “extraordinarily successful”.
