The strongest earth tremor so far in the latest swarm in the Newdigate area of Surrey was felt across southern England early this morning.
Council officials are investigating how a gas well in Cheshire was drilled to a depth more than double that referred to in the planning consent.
IGas has reduced by nearly 1.5km the maximum depth of its proposed shale gas well at Tinker Lane in north Nottinghamshire.
