The last excavator was moved off Rathlin Energy’s Crawberry Hill drilling site in East Yorkshire this afternoon. All the cabins have now gone and a small tarmac access to the field is all that remains of the site, where a well was sunk in 2013.

Rathlin Energy has announced it is abandoning its exploratory well at Crawberry Hill in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Campaigners against Rathlin’s work say they will gather at the site near Beverley today in celebration.
Rathlin Energy has run out of time to complete the work programme scheduled in its planning application for an exploratory well in East Yorkshire.
Rathlin Energy is submitting initial drilling plans this week for its second exploration well at West Newton in East Yorkshire. A full planning application is expected to be sent to East Riding Council before Christmas.
