The exploration company, IGas, has been accused of wasting public money by appealing against the refusal of planning permission to test its well at Ellesmere Port.
IGas declared a profit of £15.5m in 2017, after two previous years of loss.
IGas has confirmed the first shale gas well it plans to drill in north Nottingham will be at the Springs Road site at Misson. Drilling was expected to start in mid 2018.

The shale company, IGas Energy, announced today it wanted to drill and frack a new well on the edge of the Ince marshes in Cheshire.
