Angus Energy reported this morning it has withdrawn a planning application to test its oil well at Balcombe in West Sussex.
Ineos has withdrawn the long-running planning application for coalbed methane extraction at Airth in Falkirk. Opponents of the scheme for 22 new wells and 14 new sites described the decision as “fantastic news”.
Details have been published on the latest stage in a long-running planning dispute over oil production at Egdon Resource’s site at Wressle in north Lincolnshire.
The last excavator was moved off Rathlin Energy’s Crawberry Hill drilling site in East Yorkshire this afternoon. All the cabins have now gone and a small tarmac access to the field is all that remains of the site, where a well was sunk in 2013.
