West Sussex County Council is again controlling public admission to a planning committee considering an application for oil and gas drilling.
People must reserve a seat to be sure of entry to the meeting on Tuesday 22nd July, which is due to consider Celtiqe Energie’s application for an exploratory well at Boxal Bridge, between Wisborough Green and Kirdford
A council press release said “to avoid the disappointment of being turned away on the day”, people who want to attend the meeting should send a request by email to email@example.com by 12 noon on Monday 21st July. The press release does not specify how many public seats there will be.
In April, the council limited public admission to 100 to the planning committee which considered Cuadrilla’s application to test its well at Balcombe. People wanting to go to that meeting were also asked to book in advance by email.
Like April’s meeting, next week’s committee is at the Park Suite, County Hall North, Horsham. The meeting starts at 10.30am and Wisborough Gren/Kirdford is the first application on the agenda. The planning officer’s report recommends the committee refuse the application on traffic and road safety grounds.
