Angus Energy has announced the start of its seven-day well test at the Balcombe oil well in West Sussex.
The news was tweeted by the company this morning and was later announced in a formal statement to investors. The statement said:
“First hydrocarbons have flowed to surface as expected in normative operations. Following completion, the Company will report results of the flow test in due course.”
The start of the flow test was also announced by Balcombe Parish Council. A post on the council’s website said:
“Angus Energy received all regulatory permissions to start the well test at Lower Stumble last Friday. The test has now officially commenced. They [Angus Energy] will be posting all the relevant permissions on their website in due course”.
At the time of writing (midday) there was no further information about the flow test on the Angus Energy website.
Villagers gathered outside the site on Tuesday last week to protest against the flow test. DrillOrDrop report
