The company behind a West Sussex oil exploration well, where drilling began on 29 May 2017, has threatened legal action against a local campaign group.
Cuadrilla released figures today which showed it spent £650,000 with suppliers based in Lancashire in the four months to the end of March 2017. The company said this was more than it spent with suppliers in the preceding 11 months.
About 80 opponents of fracking from across Europe joined a protest today outside Cuadrilla’s shale gas site at Preston New Road, near Blackpool, where drilling is expected to start imminently.
Campaigners said more than 40,000 people have called for a ban on fracking in response to the Scottish Government’s consultation which closes just before midnight tonight.
