Four women wearing bat costumes locked themselves to containers of concrete this morning outside Third Energy’s fracking site at Kirby Misperton in North Yorkshire.
In a last attempt to stop fracking at Kirby Misperton, Friends of the Earth has asked North Yorkshire Police to investigate whether bats will be at risk from Third Energy’s planned operation.
People can now comment on new details of plans to produce oil for 20 years at Markwells Wood in the South Downs National Park.
Councillors deciding Third Energy’s fracking application in North Yorkshire were given “misleading” information about bats flying over the wellsite, Friends of the Earth said today.
