New research into fugitive methane emissions has called for better monitoring of decommissioned onshore oil and gas wells.
Cuadrilla won’t publish daily reports about fracking site – but regulator releases details of methane emissions
The fracking company, Cuadrilla, has said it won’t publish the daily report of operations at its shale gas site near Blackpool, despite a recommendation by the industry trade organisation.
A government energy minister has declined to give details of the acceptable level of fugitive emissions from fracking wells in the UK.
A small but influential group of people have changed public perception against shale gas, Cuadrilla’s commercial director told a committee of MPs this afternoon. Tony Carruthers blamed anti-fracking campaigners for what he called “ridiculous scaremongering” and said their propaganda had been “extraordinarily successful”.
