The council is a statutory consultee on the application. A previous meeting on 10th November also agreed to defer discussion. The decision will be made by North Yorkshire County Council.
In a statement issued today, Ryedale District Council (RDC) said:
“The planning application, Hydraulic Fracturing KM8, is deferred until a future meeting of the Planning Committee.”
“Third Energy have agreed to provide additional information, which has been requested by North Yorkshire County Council and for Ryedale District Council to be consulted upon.”
The next scheduled meetings of the RDC planning committee are on 22nd December 2015 and 19th January 2016.
The deferral coincided with a letter from Third Energy’s agent, Petroleum Safety Services Ltd, to North Yorkshire County Council, dated yesterday.
It was a response to NYCC’s request for more information about the application and a proposed delay to the decision until 9th February 2016. DrillOrDrop report
In the letter, which can be viewed on the planning application website, PSS said:
“Following our meeting earlier today, we confirm that Third Energy UK Gas Limited agrees to an extension to the period of time in which North Yorkshire County Council will determine the planning application.”
“Third Energy UK Gas Limited agrees to an extension until a date no sooner than the 9th February 2016, in order to provide additional information requested by North Yorkshire County Council and for this information to be consulted upon. It also provides reasonable time for the Planning Committee to review the planning officer’s report, undertake a site visit and determine the application.”
NYCC validated the application on 29th July 2015. Its planners asked Third Energy for more information on 11th October 2015 and again on 19th November 2015. A second public consultation closed on 25th November 2015. Link to planning application NY/2015/0233/ENV
