  1. If the Lancashire Nanas want to associate themselves with Ian Crane, I would, in all seriousness, suggest they visit his website and seek to understand his range of beliefs.

  2. From the media, looks like the government is launching a consultation on Monday with one option being that residents affected by fracking could be paid some of the proceeds of shale gas projects.

    Personally I’d rather see the income accruing to the community go into projects of general benefit such as school or hospitals but I guess this is one method of increasing support from the silent majority in a debate that tends to dominated by the green lobby.

    My guess is that behind the scenes the government is getting concerned about the political ramifications of a declining energy supply situation, especially the need for a back-up energy source for times in the winter when the sun doesn’t shine and the wind doesn’t blow.
