The DrillOrDrop team wishes all our readers a very happy Christmas.
We want to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed to our independent journalism in the past 12 months.
2021 has been another difficult year for many people. Despite this, our readers continued to donate to the site and send articles, comments and ideas for research.
We are very grateful for your support. Without it, our work in 2021 would not have been possible.
As usual, between Christmas and New Year we will publish a review of the important news from the past 12 months. We’ll also look ahead to key events expected in 2022.
Next year, DrillOrDrop will continue to report independently on the onshore oil and gas industry and campaign activity in the UK.
Please keep in touch and let us know about news and events that you think we should be covering.
We always enjoy hearing when you like what we do. But we also want to know when you think we get things wrong. You can always comment on DrillOrDrop posts or contact us directly.

Have a Merry Christmas and a very rewarding New Year, Ruth and Paul and to all that contribute towards Drill or Drop?
All the best to you, Ruth, Paul and team, and to all contributors. Thank you DorD for keeping us in touch in such a timely fashion.
Merry Christmas Ruth & Paul.
Interesting article in the Guardian today:
“Plans for a new underground coalmine in Wales could be approved imminently despite pledges made at the Cop26 climate conference to move away from the dirtiest fossil fuel.
The Coal Authority is imminently expected to decide whether the conditions have been met to allow work to begin at an old deep-shaft site at Aberpergwm in south Wales.
A row has emerged since Cop26 between ministers at Whitehall and the devolved Welsh administration over which government office holds responsibility for reviewing and making a final decision on the impending permit.”
This seems to have slipped under the anti radar? A task for XR, EOI, PhilC, Miss Pearce and Greta? Not forgetting Greenpeas….Better get on the case ASAP…..
Living in the North West we hear a lot about why the Cumbrian mine should not go ahead but not heard about this one before?
Ho! Ho! Ho! I’m honoured to be included in the list of the greater good! (Or is that the Greta Good!)
As for the “Bah! Humbuggers!” who simply cant rise above their own obsessions and fixations with personalities. Rather than share and enjoy the true meaning of Christmas.
On the Naughty List it is then! Oh! Dear! Not Again!
No names. No Frack Drill….
Peace on Earth and Good Will to all men, women and children everywhere.
A little reminder that even the most jaded “Blah! Blah! Blah! Humbuggers!” can be at the very least momentarily redeemed by exposure to:
The Nightmare Before Christmas – “What’s This”
Enjoy The New Year!
On Dasher! And Dancer! On Prancer! And Vixen! On Comet! And Cupid! On Donner! And Blitzen! On Rudolph! Away!
Ho! Ho! Ho!
Merry Christmas PhilC – I hope you and your family have a nice festive season and every success in 2022.
Someone just sent this amusing video (in the Times article) to me:
Hopefully it will not be behind the Murdoch paywall….
Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!
And Peace on Earth and Good Will to Frack Pumpingheads everywhere!
