UK onshore oil and gas production in charts – June 2024

UK onshore oil and gas saw increased daily rates and a higher contribution to total production in June 2024.

Volumes were down slightly compared with May 2024, possibly reflecting a shorter month. The volume of flared gas rose for the second consecutive month.

Daily oil production: 12,570 barrels of oil per day (bopd) (May 2024: 12,187 bopd)

Oil volume: 59,954m3 (May 2024: 60,064m3)

Oil weight: 49,530 tonnes (May 2024: 49,652 tonnes)

Daily gas production: 8.69 million standard cubic feet per day mmscf/d) (May 2024: 8.47 mmscf/d)

Gas volume: 7,378 thousand standard cubic meters (ksm3) (May 2024: 7,438 ksm3)

Gas weight: 6,030 tonnes (May 2024: 6,086 tonnes)

Onshore oil’s contribution to UK total production: 2.47% (May 2024: 2.01%)

Onshore gas’s contribution to UK total production: 1.11%(May 2024: 0.93%)

Volume of flared gas at UK onshore oilfields: 1,018ksm3 (May 2024: 977ksm3)

Volume of vented gas at UK onshore oilfields: 132ksm3 (May 2024: 136ksm3)

Number of onshore fields which recorded some oil production in June 2024: 30 (May 2024: 31)

Number of onshore sites which recorded some gas production in June 2024: 10 (May 2024: 10)

Number of onshore producing fields which recorded no oil production in June 2024: 13 (May 2024: 12)

Number of onshore producing fields which recorded no gas production in June 2024: 14 (May 2024: 16)

The June 2024 data shows there was no production at 13 UK onshore oil fields. This was one more than in May 2024.

Production was recorded at Brockham in Surrey in June 2024 for the first time since September 2022.

But there was no recorded production in June 2024 at Humbly Grove or Keddington.

There was no production reported at 14 UK onshore producing gas fields in June 2024. This is two down on May 2024.
