An environmental campaigner who is challenging convictions arising from the Balcombe anti-fracking protests finally began his appeal today, 16 months after his arrest and following two delays to his case.
An inquiry has been provisionally scheduled for August next year to hear Celtique Energie’s appeal against the refusal of planning permission for exploratory drilling in West Sussex.

Celtique Energie has confirmed it will appeal against the decision by West Sussex County Council to refuse planning permission for an exploration well near the villages of Kirdford and Wisborough Green. The company said in a statement it believed the decision was “fundamentally unsound”.
