The volume of UK onshore oil produced in December 2024 was up 5% , compared with the month before, almost topping the record for the year.
December was the first month since July for UK onshore oil volume to top 60,000m3 and weight to exceed 50,000 tonnes.
Onshore gas rose 6% in December 2024, compared with the month before but did not return to the highs seen at the start of the year.
Horse Hill in Surrey, where planning permission for oil production was quashed by the Supreme Court, produced no oil in December 2024. This was the first month of no production at the site since the court’s judgement.
