UK onshore oil and gas production in figures and charts – January 2025

The volume of UK onshore gas fell nearly 4.5% in January 2025, compared with the month before. This was the lowest monthly volume since September 2024 and mainly because a fall in production at Saltfleetby.

Onshore oil volume in January 2025 fell 1% but was still above 60,000m3, the second highest monthly total in the previous 12 months. Production from Wressle was up nearly 14% but there were falls at Welton and Stockbridge.

Horse Hill, where the Supreme Court quashed planning permission, recorded no production for the second consecutive month.

Venting from UK onshore oil fields in January rose to a monthly record for the past 12 months. Flaring also increased.
